#SupportLocalContent

Kenya has some of the most talented people in Africa and even the world. Some

Kenyans have also made it on a global platform eg Lupita Nyong'o who won an Oscar's award.

However, Kenyans don't seem to support their local talent. This is evident in the music industry over the last decade where the Kenyan music fan base was very low. Kenyans opted for music from USA, Nigeria, Tanzania and Jamaica. It was until late 2018 that Kenyans started showing real interest to local music. This was after the emergence of Gengetone.

Although there have been an improvement over the last year, local content has not yet gotten the recognition it requires. Some of the local content that has minimal fan base are Kenyan films, poetry and Kenyan hip-hop music.

The Kenyan film industry is growing and its the high time that Kenyans start recognizing their local made films. They are always full of talent but have a minimal audience. Kenya also got great rappers who have got great hip-hop music but their market is very low.

Its the high time that all Kenyans realize that its by supporting our local talents that we will thrive as a country and be recognized around the globe.
